Ingredients
- 360 grams water
- 500 grams all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 teaspoon yeast
- 1 large egg, beaten
- Course sea salt
Directions
- Combine yeast, all-purpose flour, salt, and granulated sugar with warm water.
- Knead the dough by hand, or use stand mixer.
- Shape into individual balls of dough, 1/3 cup in size.
- Roll the dough into a rope with an even diameter, then form in your desired pretzel shape.
- Whisk 9 cups of water and 1/2 cup baking soda together, bring to a boil, then dip pretzels in for 25 seconds each.
- Baste pretzels with egg wash and sprinkle with course salt.
- Bake in oven at 425°F for 10 minutes, then broil for 5 minutes.
